《THE INDUSTRIAL ALLEYS : WITHIN PRESENT — EULJIRO》는 변화하는 서울의 산업지역을 기록하는 프로젝트의 한 시리즈이다. 을지로에서는 인쇄소, 전자상가, 간판 작업장과 같은 오래된 산업·상업 공간이 카페, 음식점, 갤러리, 문화공간과 촘촘하게 맞닿아 있다. 정면적이고 유형학적인 촬영 방식과 선택적 디새츄에이션을 통해, 서로 다른 기능과 시간이 하나의 거리와 파사드 안에서 어떻게 겹쳐지고 충돌하는지를 기록했다. 시퀀스는 산업의 기억에서 점차 강해지는 소비의 색으로 이동하지만, 어느 한쪽이 다른 한쪽을 완전히 대체했다고 결론내리지 않는다. 대신 변화가 아직 완결되지 않은 채 서로 다른 시간과 사용이 공존하는 상태에 주목한다.
THE INDUSTRIAL ALLEYS : WITHIN PRESENT — EULJIRO is one series within a project documenting Seoul’s changing industrial districts. In Euljiro, older printing shops, electronics businesses, sign workshops, and small industrial-commercial spaces exist in close proximity to cafés, restaurants, galleries, and cultural venues. Through frontal, typological photography and selective desaturation, the series examines how different functions and temporal layers overlap and collide within the same streets and façades. The sequence moves from traces of industrial memory toward increasingly visible consumer color, without suggesting that one has fully replaced the other. Instead, it focuses on a state in which different times and uses continue to coexist within an unfinished process of change.
