WITHIN THE CHANGING CITY : SEONGSU Seongsu-dong, Seoul, reflects a city undergoing rapid transformation. Much of its former industrial landscape has disappeared, while large-scale renovations, redevelopment, and the expansion of global brands and commercial and cultural spaces continue to reshape its urban identity. Aging buildings stand beside redesigned spaces, monumental advertisements, construction barriers, and unfinished structures. Within the same streetscape, different layers of time and competing urban values coexist. Through frontal compositions, restrained colors, and a consistent documentary approach, this series examines the architectural surfaces and spatial boundaries of a changing city. Beyond physical transformation, it observes how consumer culture and capital investment reshape the identity and character of urban space. Rather than depicting a completed transformation, these photographs document the city in its ongoing state of becoming.
